Executive Director of Appleseed Community Mental Health Center has been appointed to the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage

Ohio Governor Mike Dewine has appointed Ashland County’s Jerry Strausbaugh, EdD, LPCCS, Executive Director of Appleseed Community Mental Health to the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist (CSWMFT) Board. The CSWMFT Board is the state agency responsible for the regulation of licensed counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists in the state of Ohio. Licensing helps to ensure that mental health care providers meet minimal established competency standards. Members of the board are expected to bring expertise in a variety of clinical/practice/academic areas, knowledge about the community or profession, preservation of the democratic process, the ability to affect change in their jurisdiction, as well as collective wisdom related to their discipline.

The primary mission of board members is to protect the public.

Board members are appointed by the Governor for a 3-year term with possible re-appointment for an additional 3-year term. The Board meets six times a year on the third Thursday and Friday of January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Jerry’s term on the board will begin February 25, 2022 and end on October 10, 2024.
