Employment Specialist (Part-time)

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc. is on the lookout for a passionate and motivated Employment Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis working 24-29 hours per week. We are seeking an individual with excellent time management, organizational, and writing skills to support adults with severe and persistent mental illness in securing meaningful community employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, assess, and develop community-based employment opportunities.
  • Provide individual and group interventions, case management, and crisis management.
  • Assist clients in developing communication and relationship skills, as well as coping strategies.
  • Offer advocacy, assessment, linkage, monitoring, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation to create job sites, counsel applicants, and provide job coaching.
  • Conduct most activities in client homes, schools, and community locations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience in employment services preferred.
  • Strong ability to engage with diverse populations from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with Ashland County and local resources is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to pass background and driving record checks.
