Mental Health Crisis Worker (1st Shift)
Appleseed Community Mental Health Center is seeking a skilled full-time Crisis Worker to join our team immediately. The Mental Health Crisis Worker will provide essential services Monday through Friday during daytime hours as part of our 24-hour Crisis Intervention Program. This role serves the Ashland County community, including children, youth, families, and adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess psychiatric risk levels for individuals referred by mental health professionals, hospitals, primary care providers, law enforcement, schools, and community members.
- Determine the nature and severity of crisis situations and develop intervention plans.
- Provide brief, short-term crisis counseling to clients and their support systems to help restore equilibrium.
- Refer clients to case management, outpatient mental health services, and community resources as needed.
- Facilitate voluntary and involuntary commitments when necessary.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, staff training, and individual supervision.
- Maintain accurate clinical records.
- Offer follow-up crisis intervention services and assist with ongoing client adjustment.
- Identify and connect clients with community and social resources.
- Collaborate with hospital and jail staff and coordinate service delivery among multiple social service agencies.
- Conduct crisis and emergent diagnostic assessments as required.
Job Requirements:
- Current licensure required (LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW, LPCC, IMFT).
- Preference for Independent Social Worker (LISW), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT). Candidates with LSW, LPC, or MFT and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of crisis interventions and psychiatric hospitalization.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid auto insurance, and a clean driving record. Background checks and drug tests are mandatory.
